Shooting for The Star: Brisbane Bullets Announce Exciting New Partnership
The Brisbane Bullets are thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with The Star Entertainment Group, which will come on board as the Club’s pre-season community partner. This collaboration marks a significant step forward for the Bullets as they prepare for the upcoming season with a fresh and dynamic outlook.
As part of this partnership, The Star Entertainment Group will support an exciting international team travelling to Brisbane for the pre-season, offering fans a unique opportunity to witness high-calibre basketball action before the official season begins. The synergy between the Brisbane Bullets and The Star is underpinned by the proximity of their locations. Situated just a brief walk across the Neville Bonner Bridge, The Star Brisbane is conveniently close to the Bullets' new High Performance Centre in South Bank.
The Star Brisbane Chief Executive Officer Daniel Finch said, “We are thrilled to be supporting our cross-river neighbours the Brisbane Bullets as they prepare to tip off their 2024/2025 season.”
Commencing a staged opening from 29 August, The Star Brisbane is a game-changer for the city especially in the lead up to the 2032 Olympics. This new tourism addition to the cityscape will not only enhance the entertainment options for locals and visitors but bolster Brisbane's standing as a premier destination for sports and entertainment.
Brisbane Bullets Chief Executive Officer Malcolm Watts said, “The Brisbane Bullets have undergone significant changes throughout the off-season, reflecting a commitment to excellence and growth.”
The partnership with The Star is a testament to the new look and vision of the Brisbane Bullets Club. By attracting strong partners like The Star Entertainment Group, the Bullets are setting ourselves up for sustainable success on and off the court.
This announcement comes on the back of some exciting off season changes at the club.
The delivery of new High Performance Centre in South Bank will serve as the training facility for the team, featuring a state-of-the-art gym, a full FIBA-approved court, and advanced recovery facilities. This centre is also designed to be a valuable resource for the Bullets school partnerships program, offering students access to top-tier basketball facilities, players and coaches.
In addition to the new training centre, the Bullets have made strategic recruitments to strengthen the team, setting the stage for a competitive and successful season. The team will also be moving back to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, a venue steeped in history and the site of multiple championships in the 80s and 90s. This move signifies a return to the roots of the club and aims to rekindle the championship spirit that has long been a part of the Bullets' legacy.
With these exciting developments, the Brisbane Bullets are poised to make a significant impact in NBL25.
